Message	: I would love a six speed in my Z. If I could have a higher gear it would make cruising at 100MPH on European roads more efficeint. With the recent fuel blockades I have had to stick to 70 to avoid running out of gas. the previous generation Diablos and Countachs had 5 speed transmissions and were able to travel in speeds over 200 mph. The 1-2 shift was not required until 65ish mph!!! Like Ben mentioned as did I, the 6 gears allow shorter gearing (1-4 or 1-5) but still have an overdrive 6th gear. Most 6 speed cars have a 6th gear that allow them to travel at 65 mph @ 1700-1800 rpm!! The Miata is one of the few exceptions that I can think of.
